Hunter Backstory (female)

______________________________________________________________

Hunter was born a witch in a wealthy family. No siblings to speak of but her parents were good to her. She had a high education and her magic was something they made sure she was skilled in.

Socially she wasn’t very outgoing. Timid, and kept to herself save for a small group of people she called friends. Other magic users; all different breeds. But they were all kept separate from the others. There was to be no mixing of the species. None.

Which was where the problem lie.

Hunter was bored. She didn’t care for other witches or warlocks. They all had the same tricks. Used the same manipulation to flirt. Witches were very…showy. A trait she apparently wasn’t at all attracted to. It often left her daydreaming out windows and tapping pens when she should be focusing on keeping the family name alive. Finding a mate worthy of her status.

Status was stupid.

And the werewolves, the fae, the vampires…they were all so…interesting.

That saying is true, by the way. Curiosity did kill something.

Namely, (1) witch.

Details are a bit blurry, but a night out turned into only night for Hunter.

A bright future turned into no sunshine, no parents, no status. Everything was gone with one, damn, bite.

Her parents only kept her around long enough to help her through the change, to see her through the pain and the suffering. Once it was over, and she had managed to survive it - off she had to go. Enough money to keep her afloat and find her own way, but everything she had ever known was gone.

She’d kept in the shadows. Quietly moving from one place to the next, figuring out how this vampire thing actually worked. It had been emotionally draining and she was almost certain her brain had broken somewhere in the process but then she found them.

The others.

She’d watched them from afar for a very long time. Even if it felt like a few months. A year had passed, two…

And a fondness grew for them. All of them. All different and none of them even knew it had happened. All of it was one sided, but she’d learned how to maneuver through the fae. How to blend in with the vampires. How to outrun the wolves. The witches were left in the dark, however. If they could throw her away, so could she. Her power was still intact, harder to reach but intact. She didn’t use it if she could help it. All it would do was burn her in the end.

There was one that she kept being drawn to. He was beautiful. Tall and lean. Lethal.

And she fawned hard enough that she had decided to stay in that place. To settle. At least for the time being… She could do that, right? One small mercy in this otherwise lonely life.

Somedays she wanted him to notice her.

Others she knew he shouldn’t.
